The Pacific State of mind

“O.K. is a thought provoking speaker whose talks are dynamic and engaging. He delivers powerful messages with clarity and impact, and his ability to move the audience makes him standout”

—Gurpal Sandhu, Data Engineer, RMS Lifeline

Points of the talk

  • Trust is the foundation of leadership

When leaders react impulsively, trust erodes. Without trust, teams lose focus, stability, and direction.

  • Mindfulness is not optional

Presence and awareness aren’t “nice-to-haves.” They’re what keep leaders steady when everything around them feels chaotic.

  • Clarity begins with how we handle information

Learning to separate fact from opinion, speculation, and fiction gives leaders and teams the confidence to make sound choices.

  • Communication always leaves gaps

What you say and what others hear are never the same thing. Recognizing this gap makes space for patience, listening, and fewer misunderstandings.

  • Opinions reveal needs, not enemies

Behind every opinion is a feeling or need. When we treat them that way, disagreements stop being battles and start being bridges.

  • Respond with depth, not eruption

Explosive reactions may feel powerful in the moment, but they burn trust. Calm, thoughtful responses create lasting influence.

I AM O.K.

I am Omer Kayiira (O.K. for short), a mindfulness meditation teacher based in Chicago. Since 2023, I have made mindfulness a daily practice—an anchor that brought clarity and focus during a period of immense personal hardship. This experience inspired my commitment to help others find peace, calm, and focus in an otherwise chaotic world.

I am currently completing Dharma Moon’s 100-hour Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training and its advanced program, with certification expected in January 2026. My teaching centers on guiding students to reduce distractions, settle the mind, and deepen awareness of the breath.

Alongside this, I am developing Pacific Dialogue, a workplace-focused communication approach rooted in mindful and empathetic language. Building on the Nonviolent Communication framework, Pacific Dialogue is designed for leaders in specialized technical roles who want to strengthen their communication skills with clarity, empathy, and presence.
